Prerequisites: Completion of GE Foundation requirements, one or more Explorations courses, and upper-division standing. Examines major events and ideas in society and culture of ancient Greece. Emphasis on literature, the arts, and history. Topics include Minoan civilization, Homer and the Trojan War, mythology and religion, lyric poetry, the Persian Wars, the "Golden Age" of Athens, the Peloponesian War, and Hellenistic culture.
