Prerequisites: GEOG 444 or consent of instructor. Methods and theories used in reconstructing and dating climates of the past 2 million years, using such proxies as sediment sequences, packrat middens, ice cores, tree rings, corals, and documentary data. Causes of environmental change and human interactions are analyzed. (Lecture 3 hours, lab activities 2 hours.)
