Prerequisite: EE 310. Electromagnetic field theory including transmission lines, vector fields, electrostatics and magnetostatics. Maxwell's equations and plane wave propagation. Waveguides and microstrip-RF circuit principles and devices. Radiation and antenna design. Wireless communication systems including satellite and cell-phone technologies. Not open for credit to students with credit in EE 460 or 464. (Lecture-problems 2 hours, laboratory 3 hours) Letter grade only (A-F).
