Prerequisites: EE 310 or CECS 285 and EE 202 or CECS 311 and EE 202. Introduction to discrete-time signals and systems, z-transform, digital filters, system design, and comparison to the analog counterparts. Multimedia-based laboratory experiments for discrete-time signals and systems in time and frequency domain, synthesis of digital sound/music with MATLAB or C. Not open for credit to students with credit in EE 485. (Lecture-problems 2 hours, laboratory 3 hours) Letter grade only (A-F).
