Prerequisite: Official admission to the School Counseling Program. Overview of issues related to school counseling and the role of the professional school counselor. Includes a practicum component designed to develop counseling skills and promote helping relationships. Field experiences are required. School Counseling students are expected to take this course in their first semester in the program. Not open for credit to students with credit in EDP 506. Letter grade only (A-F).
