Prerequisites: CHEM 111B and 251 with a grade of "C" or better, MATH 123 (may be taken concurrently), PHYS 100B or 152. Half of the two semester physical chemistry package with a biochemical emphasis. The two courses, CHEM 377A,B, may be taken in either order. Principles of physical chemistry emphasizing thermodynamics and chemical kinetics. Biological and environmental science examples used to illustrate principles. Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture 3 hrs.)
