Prerequisites: CHEM 441B or BIOL 443 or 543 with a grade of "C" or better. (Undergraduates enroll in BIOL 445; graduates enroll in BIOL 545.) Study of molecular mechanisms by which intermediary metabolism is regulated in various mammalian tissues with emphasis on mechanisms of hormone action and regulation of some key enzymes of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism.
