Prerequisites: BIOL 260; MATH 119B or 123; six units of biological science; all with a grade of "C" or better. (Undergraduates enroll in BIOL 467; graduates enroll in BIOL 567.) Multivariate data analysis techniques applied to biological data. Applied matrix algebra for analyzing and understanding multivariate analysis. Includes principal components analysis, factor analysis, discriminant analysis, cluster analysis and current modern phylogenetic analysis techniques. Analyzing multivariate biological data using computerized statistical packages. Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture 3 hrs., laboratory 3 hrs.)
