Independent, in-depth research projects to be conducted by students under the supervision of a faculty member. As per university policy on independent studies courses, each student enrolled in this course must have an agreement, or -contract- on file in the department office. The agreement is to be made between the student and the instructor at the beginning of the course, and must include: a description of the work to be accomplished, specific information on the tasks required; the nature of the final report, and the basis for determining the final grade. The agreement must be signed by both the instructor and the student. Letter grade only (A-F). May be repeated to maximum of 12 units in the same semester.
