Prerequisites: AH 111A, 111B, or consent of instructor. Examination of sixteenth-century Italian painting, sculpture, and architecture, emphasizing that of Florence, Venice, and Rome. Historical, cultural, religious, and theoretical framework. Special attention to works by a handful of major artists (Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, and the Mannerists). Not open for credit to students with credit in ART 424 or 598G. Letter grade only (A-F).
