Special on the emergence of modern science and technology and the world capitalist economy from the 17th century to the present. Interdisciplinary examination of colonial and neo-colonial expansionism, the rise of the democratic nation-state, and the dynamics of geo-political conflict. Prerequisite: SOCL101.
