The function and organization of the major endocrine glands, the synthesis and release of their hormone products, and the effects of those hormones on target cells with regard to normal growth, development and homeostasis. The cooperative relationship between the endocrine, nervous and immune systems discussed from the standpoint of how that cooperation contributes to the smooth functioning of the human physiology.
