(XL: HIST 323) By the late-19th century the United States was emerging as one of the world's strongest nations. This course offers a survey of American foreign relations from the late 1890s through the eve of the Korean War, examining U.S. responses to various issues including the end of Spanish colonialism in the Western hemisphere, issues arising from both World Wars, and the beginnings of the Cold War.
