This course introduces students to computers and the use of technology. Topics include: The evolution of the computer and technology and the role computers and technology have and will play in the development of our society; how computers work, an introduction to personal computers, data communication systems, the Internet, the World Wide Web, and an understanding of the use of software and hardware will be covered. Students will understand how information systems work and are incorporated into all areas of society. A knowledge of how the human/computer interface occurs will be studied. PRQ: None.
