Working independently, students conduct both laboratory and literature investigations on problems chosen from the areas of faculty expertise and interest. Currently, areas include laser spectroscopy, syntheses of inorganic compounds, bioanalytical studies, ferrocenophane chemistry, and structure/function relationships of enzymes. The experimental work is designed to develop students' ability to work independently and to interpret and communicate experimental results. The course may be repeated for additional credit. Lab 3 hours/credit hour. PRQ: CHEM 106 and consent of instructor. Scheduled: On request. Meets: N.
