(XL: ART 210) A study of the monuments and other material remains that illustrate the historical development of Greece and Rome. Some attention will be paid to the topography of Athens and Rome and of other selected sites. Guest lecturers, such as those of the Archaeological Institute of America, may present information in related areas, e.g., on the Egyptians, Phoenicians, etc. Some major archaeologists will be discussed for their contributions.
