This one-semester course introduces the structure and function of lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, and polynucleic acids. An exploration of the regulatory relationships found in living cells will be accomplished by analyzing intermediary metabolism, especially carbohydrate metabolism. The thermodynamic and kinetic foundation of metabolism will also be examined. This course will also introduce the basic flow of genetic information in living systems. PRQ: CHEM 206.
