This course serves to develop the student's understanding of classical thermodynamics, chemical potential, chemical and phase equilibria, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics. Laboratory experiments serve to illustrate the material covered in the lectures. Lecture 3 hours; lab 3 hours. PRQ: CHEM 106, PHYS 202 (or PHYS 106), MATH 130, or consent of instructor.
