The course focuses on the institutional structure of the financial markets that comprise the fabric of the American economy. Macroeconomic policy provides the framework within which public and private sector partnerships function to assure a stable and growing environment for American citizens to seek to realize their economic goals. Topics included in the course may include: monetary theory, the role of money in a market economy, the structure of the financial marketplace as it relates to and is influenced by monetary policy as formulated and implemented by the Federal Reserve System. Skills developed in this course include: critical reading and thinking, clear and concise academic writing, and preparation and delivery of oral presentations. PRQ: ECON 101 and 102, or ECON 502. Scheduled: Fall, yearly.
