Applying theories developed to account for violent behavior in large-scale societies, this course will attempt to discover whether homo sapiens' violence is inherent to the species, whether it is a set of learned behaviors or whether it is the result of some combination of variables. Case materials will be drawn from societies which have existed in different geographic area and during different periods of world history. PRQ: ANSO 100 or 150. Scheduled, Spring, even years.
