Students delve into the complex relationship between society and law. Does society create law, or does law create society? Society, in essence is itself a tangled web of laws turning would-be chaos into an organized bureaucratic existence. Using films, ethnographic work, and an on-site courtroom observation project, participants explore and answer these and more questions about the sociolegal world. Prerequisites: two courses from SO; Every Other Year
