Despite little direct contact with offenders or the criminal justice system people typically hold strong opinions about crimerelated issues. The goal of this course is to understand how media sources shape our attitudes and beliefs about crime and how we should respond to it. To this end, participants examine media involvement in constructing the reality of crime and justice. Prerequisites: two courses from SO or CJ; Every Other Year
