This course introduces students to the scientific study of language. Topics include speech physiology, psychological processes underlying the production and comprehension of both spoken and written language, the psychological and biological milestones of language acquisition (both normal and special), theories of language evolution, cognitive neuroscience of language, and the relationship of language to other cognitive processes. Prerequisite: PS 233 or PS 252.
