This course introduces the challenges of entrepreneurship including the start-up and operations of a small therapeutic massage business. Topics include common business practices and structures; formulation of a business plan; legal agreements, contracts, and employment agreements; professional insurance plans; basic principles of accounting and bookkeeping; create and maintain client, financial and tax records; and research of federal state, and local regulations as they apply to massage therapy. Students are required to participate in one Saturday clinic for each course.
