This course is designed to prepare students to work with actual patient records in any type of health care facility. Students will learn methodologies for the abstracting of physician's notes and operative reports by coding from actual patient records. The student will utilize their prior knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding. Prerequisites: MED210 and MED220.
