An in-depth study of advertising, public relations, and print media production. Emphasis will be given to terminology, production techniques, layout, copy and type design, type specifying and fitting, graphic presentations, and portfolio construction. Students will be expected to develop a working knowledge of "board work" as it pertains to what actually happens at an advertising agency, advertising or public relations production department, or design firm, or in producing newspapers and magazines. Prerequisite: COM 200 or ART 105 or consent of instructor.
