Special attention is given to the forms and conventions of the genre,and to the critical apparatus by which a reader may intelligently analyze works of fiction. A typical reading list might include works by Austen, the Bronte sisters, Flaubert, Twain, Dostoevsky, Lawrence, Hurston, Camus and Erdrich.
