(3 hrs.) (Open to all students) This course explores the developmental periods of conception, infancy, early childhood and adolescence with a focus on benchmarks in the areas of biological/physical, psychosocial and cognitive development. Through opportunities to observe and interact with children, students gain a general understanding of and will be able to identify critical moments of child and adolescent development. This course also explores the cross-cultural differences and similarities in development emphasizing the interactions of race, social class, gender and religion.
