(2 hrs.) (Prerequisites: Admission to the Teacher Education Program, senior standing or permission of instructor.) Students review theories and practices related to speech and language development, and complex emerging literacy. Emphasis will be given to practical applications of language and literacy development from birth through age eight. Students design, facilitate and evaluate literacy experiences that support children in learning to read and write.
