(3 hrs.) (Prerequisite: FAS 170 with a C- or better.) An introductory course to acquaint the fashion student with foundational skills needed for the product developer. Topics covered will include the principles and elements of design, color theory, trend and market research, garment styles and parts, flat and mechanical drawings, an overview of fabric types and uses, developing a line of garments, and industry sewing techniques.
