Designed to introduce theories, research and practices for designing and implementing nonprofit organizational programs and activities, and managing volunteers who lead, manage and fund them, the course provides students with basic skills and knowledge needed to assume roles as volunteer program leaders and managers. The course also explores the motivations and behaviors of volunteers and nonprofit personnel. Additionally service-learning projects enable students to apply theoretical concepts in the field and reflect on their implications on professional practice.
