An ethnological course studying the mechanics and evolution of behavior. The course includes historical ethology and its arguments; basic neural mechanisms; releasors; sign stimuli; learning theory; complex individual and social behaviors; species interactions and the evolution of behavior. Course is offered odd-year fall semesters. Prerequisite: PY 1000 Introduction to Psychology or approval. BL 1250 is recommended.
