Concepts and tools that enable engineers and business leaders to jointly make sound business/technology decisions in moving from ideas and designs to real products will be taught using lectures, cases and a major project that will enhance the change of success of a new venture business. Topics: Disciplined Toll-Gate Processes, Customer Contract, Technical Risk Management, Design Decisions, Quality Management, Sourcing, Product Launch. Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: Engineering B.S. or MGMT 6040 and MGMT 6050 or MGMT 6620 or permission of the instructor. When Offered: Spring term annually . Cross Listed: Cross-listed as MGMT 6890. Students cannot obtain credit for both this course and MGMT 6890.
