Review of fundamentals of thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, fluid mechanics, and modern diagnostics. Discussion of flame propagation, thermal and chain explosions, stirred reactors, detonations, droplet combustion, and turbulent jet flames. Introduction to computational tools for complex equilibrium and kinetic calculations. Application to problems such as pollutant formation. Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: permission of instructor. When Offered: Spring term odd numbered years. Cross Listed: Cross-listed as CHME 6830.
