A basic course in tribology that covers both the fundamental and applied aspects of the subject. Content includes viscometry, the Reynolds equation, thrust and journal bearings (including design), thermal effects, dynamic loading and instability of bearings, rolling contact bearings, dry bearings, and theories of wear.
