Chemical processes important in the environment from naturally occurring and man-induced systems. Thermodynamic and chemical considerations of fuels; the thermodynamics of the atmosphere; atmospheric photochemistry; chemistry of natural water systems; chemistry of pesticides, fertilizers, and other important environmental contaminants; aspects of the carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur cycles. Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: CHEM1200 and one prior or concurrent course in organic chemistry or permission of instructor. When Offered: Spring term annually.
