Topics include: propagation, coupling, dispersion, loss and cut-off characteristics of guided wave models in optical fibers, structural and operating parameters of various types of hetrostructure lasers and light-emitting diodes and quantum efficiency, response time and noise characteristics of silicon PAD and PIN diodes.
