This course enables you to apply the patterns of knowing in nursing as you work with complex families in the community. You will focus on developing an understanding of and proficiency in mindful practice. Course work and clinical experiences focus on enhancing critical thinking skills that promote family strengths and resilience. Family nursing interventions emphasize the responsive use of self in therapeutic relationships with families. You will also identify connections between policy development and professional nursing practice. Theory, seminar and clinical components are included. Prerequisite: NURS 3900.
