This course explores the nursing profession as one of many systems within the healthcare system and the role of the nurse as leader/manager within that complex system. The course introduces three major components: population-based nursing practice at the systems and community level; evidenced-based practice and empirical knowing; and leadership management in the care of complex clients. Theory, seminar, lab and clinical components are included. Prerequisites: NURS 4000, 4100 (Day students); NURS 4150 (WEC students).
