Required for music majors whose principal performing medium is voice; other qualified students may be admitted. Study of vocal repertoire including oratorio, arie antiche, German Lieder, French art songs, operatic arias and contemporary British and American songs; vocalises as determined by instructor. 50-minute lessons. Normal minimum requirement: four songs of which two are memorized per semester. Prerequisite: A successful entrance audition.
