This course provides an opportunity for you to examine the link between the personal and social dimensions of human diversity and social justice. Using literary works, scholarly inquiry, reflection and discussion, the course explores women's lives across a spectrum of diversity including race-ethnicity, age, religion, class, disability and sexual orientation. Students come together as a "learning community" in a "book club" format enhanced by scholarly activities including critical and responsive reading, research, reflection, writing and focused discussion.
