This course will provide coding principles and theory of diagnosis and procedure coding using ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS classification systems. You will use and maintain electronic applications and work processes to support clinical classification and coding. You will learn and use established guidelines to comply with reporting requirements such as the National Correct Coding Initiative. You will perform data quality reviews to validate code assignments and compliance with reporting requirements.
