In this course you will study the historical roots and contemporary manifestations of early childhood education theories and practices. You will also learn about the research of educators and child psychologists who have made significant contributions to current understanding of the young child. Theories regarding the learning modes and stages of development in the typical and atypical young child will be presented. Through your fieldwork experience you will make practical applications of these theories in contemporary inclusive childcare programs. Prerequisite with concurrency: EDUC 2070.
