Introduction to astronomy, taught at Barnard, intended primarily for non-science majors. Includes discovery of new planets, the search for life, gravitation and planetary orbits, the physics of the Earth and its atmosphere, and the exploration of the solar system. Students may not receive credit for both ASTR BC1753 and ASTR C1403. Prerequisites: Recommended preparation: Working knowledge of high school algebra.
