A study of the forms of warfare practiced throughout history with the emphasis on those of the Middle East and Western Europe. Selected battles, strategy, formations, and commanders arestudied from the times of the pharaohs to the present. The moral, ethical, and cultural attitudes of the times are brought into the course so that the student may understand how they influenced warfare and in turn were influenced by warfare.
