Topics include: guided wave and fiber optics, integrated optics, electro-optic and nonlinear optical switching, pulse and soliton propagation, sources and detectors. Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: PHYS 2620. When Offered: Fall term evennumbered years. Cross Listed: Cross-listed with ECSE 4640. Students cannot receive credit for both this course and ECSE 4640. Credit Hours: 4 Contact, Lecture or Lab Hours: Three lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week.
