This course introduces basic concepts used in the modeling of material properties. The course will include classical molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, quantum mechanics based tight binding, continuum level analysis, and multiscale methods as applied to modeling of soft and hard matter. The methods are introduced in a computer laboratory environment. Open to graduates and qualified undergraduates. When Offered: Spring term even numbered years. Credit Hours: 3
