A survey of applied aspects of microbiology including the application of microorganisms in industrial processes and the roles played by microorganisms in the environment. Emphasis is placed on ways in which microorganisms can be manipulated and controlled for human advantage. Current literature regarding manipulation and regulation of microbial activities is discussed. Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: BIOL 2310 or permission of instructor.
