Alternative theories of the supply and demand for money and the determination of interest rates. Appraisal of the impact of monetary policy on unemployment, inflation, and economic growth. Strategies of monetary policy management, including analysis of policy targets and indicators, and contemporary policy decision making. Comparison of monetary policy with other stabilization policies, including fiscal policy, incomes policies, and indexing. Prerequisites: ECON 32100 or FINA 20300. 3 credits. (S,Y)
