Description:

Introduction to general theories and principles of chemistry stressing underlying correlations. Systematic study of the periodic table, with an emphasis on bonding and the quantitative relationships between the elements. Three hours of lecture (and one recitation) per week. Prerequisites: High school algebra and high school chemistry with minimum grade of C. Students cannot receive credit for both CHEM 12100 and CHEM 12300. 4 credits. (Y)
